Ronald “Ron” A. Ruggeberg, 83, of Davenport passed away on January 10, 2023 at his home. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A celebration of life will be held on May 27, 2023 at Rolling Hills Shelter at West Lake from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. Memorials may be left to Stride Autism Center. Ron was born on September 19, 1939 in Davenport to Howard and Lanore (Moltzen) Ruggeberg. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1956. Ronald was married to Joann Earling in 1981 in Manteno, IL. He was employed at Alcoa as a maintenance worker. Ron was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. He enjoyed walking his dogs and looked forward to his daily swim schedule at the YMCA. He was a proud member of his Neighborhood Watch Program. His greatest love was his grandchildren and always attended their sporting events.
Survivors include his wife, Joann; son, Jeff Ruggeberg, and daughters, Lisa Kelsey and Sue Ruggeberg; stepchildren, Matt VanDuyne, Pete VanDuyne and Vicky Vanduyne; thirteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepson, Mark VanDuyne.
