Rudy W. Claussen, 83, of Davenport, passed away peacefully Monday April 6, 2026 in Davenport. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 12:00 PM in the Runge Chapel, with visitation from 10: 00 AM until service time. He will be laid to rest in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Donors Choice.
Rudy was born the son of John and Mabel (Schroeder) Claussen on October 27, 1942. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1962-1966. Rudy was united in marriage to Kay Hulke and later divorced. He later married Darlene Wriedt January 18, 2008.
Rudy was employed as an electrician at Caterpillar Mt. Joy until the company closed. He retired from Carlton after many years of service. He was a member of the Quad Cities Bicycle Club, U.S. Chess Association, and the American Legion Davenport. Rudy was a very quiet, kind, intelligent man who cherished his family.
He is survived by his loving wife Darlene, children Ronnie (Karen) Claussen, James Claussen, Susan (Aaron) Burroughs, Steven (Julie) Claussen, and a step-son, Mike Becker, grandchildren Dakota, Emily, Samantha, Anna, great-granddaughter Nora, and brother Raymond (Dixie) Claussen.
Rudy is preceded in death by his parents and his siblings.
