Ruth L. Studeny

A memorial service for Ruth L Studeny, 67 of Davenport will be held at 11:00am Saturday, March 24th at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, 333 West Lotte Street, Blue Grass, IA. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the church hall. There will also be a celebration of her life at HDC Residential Center, 2700 Linwood Court, Davenport, IA at 3:00pm Thursday, May 3rd. Ruthie passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Ruth Lynn Studeny was born on May 3, 1950 in Davenport, the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Teel) Studeny. Ruth attended Villa De Chantal, Marquette School and graduated from Taylor School. Ruthie enjoyed living at home until she became one of the first residents at HDC Residential Center in 1986. Through the years, she enjoyed spending time vacationing with her family in Northern Minnesota fishing, boating and swimming, and bird watching, bowling on a special needs league, beading, looking at magazines, and attending many community activities.

She is survived by sisters, Diane (Steeg) Hertz of Springfield, OH, Susan Dochterman of Davenport, IA; nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and caregivers from HDC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cheryl Studeny; brother, Edward Studeny II; and nephew David Hertz.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HDC Residential Center in Memory of Ruth Studeny for Individuals with Special Needs.
