Samuel Colin Cooksey, 59, of Davenport, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 15, 2016 in Davenport. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 4:00 pm in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.
Samuel was born August 1, 1956 in Galesburg, IL; the son of George and Marlene (Sprinkle) Cooksey. He was united in marriage to Sue Cooksey on December 12, 1981 in Rock Island, IL.
He will be missed and was loved by many. He enjoyed fishing and watching Sci-Fi movies and Star Trek.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sue; son, Joshua; step-daughters, Chris (Steve), Shelly (Rich) and Melissa (Jamie); mother, Marlene, sister, Lissa (Crispin) Cantu, Sterling, IL; brother; Christopher (Charlotte) Cooksey, WI; 4 nieces, 3 nephews, 7 great nieces, 6 great nephews, 5 granddaughters, 6 grandsons, 2 great grandsons, one great granddaughter, best friend, Larry Joe and Sam’s beloved dog, Cole.
