September 10, 1999 – October 10, 2025
It is with unimaginable sorrow that we share the passing of Samuel Wayne Micka, who left this world far too soon.
Sam’s passing was unexpected, and the heartbreak left in his absence cannot be measured.
Sam is the beloved son of Mike and Kim, brother of Margaret (Hunter) Lee, and proud new uncle to baby Griffin James.
Sam was a rare soul who made life brighter — like tie-dye in a world full of plain T-shirts. He was funny, curious, sensitive, thoughtful, and endlessly loyal. With an undeniable spirit he left those who knew him forever changed.
Sam was, in so many ways, better than this world deserved — searching for peace and joy in a place that doesn’t always make them easy to find. His soul’s energy is now free, without judgment or expectation, living the life he always deserved.
He loved spending time with friends, listening to music, and expressing his creativity through his many passions. He enjoyed the wonders of nature. He loved learning everything about anything that caught his interest.
Those who loved Sam will remember his awesome laugh, his stubborn perseverance, and his unshakable authenticity. He never pretended to be anyone but himself.
Dear Sam, we love you. Thank you for the joy, the most interesting conversations, and the unbelievable memories. We know you weren’t ready to leave, you had so many good things happening and lots of adventures planned and this was not one of them. You will be deeply missed. The impact your life made on every person you crossed paths with will be felt for many years to come. Thank you to Sam’s huge supportive community for loving him, we treasure and value each of you.
A celebration of Sam’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you celebrate Sam by living — grow something green, tie-dye something bright, light a cigar, crank up your favorite song, and do whatever makes you feel alive. That’s what Sam would want.
