Shelia C. Grothusen

Shelia was born March 30th, 1938 and lived in Bettendorf, Iowa for the majority of her life. She graduated from Rock Island High School and worked at Modern Woodman until she became a stay at home mother. She married Bill, the love of her life, on April 3rd,1970 and together raised Stacey and Mike in their loving home. She opened her home to care for and love many teacher’s children for several years.

Shelia enjoyed spending time with family and watching her grandchildren’s athletic games and dance recitals. It brought Shelia great joy to spend many hours a week talking with Doris Jean Young, her cousin, the sister she never had, and her close friends; Sally Burgess, Sally Delgado, Janet Kane, Cheryl Dickey, and Barb Pratt.

Family and friends agree that she was the most loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be forever missed by her children Stacey (Don) Stutzke, Mike (Julie) Grothusen, grandchildren Cole and Ally Grothusen, Tori and Megan Stutzke, sister in law Evalie (Jack) Grothusen, niece Krista (Mike) Decker, nephew Erick (Liz) Grothusen, grandnephews / nieces.

She was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Grothusen and mother Evelyn Swift.
