Stella M Golden

Stella Mae Golden, 91, of Bettendorf, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at the Kahl Home. A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 21 in the Runge Chapel. Stella was born March 25, 1925 in Dubuque, Iowa to Peter and Ellen Pape. She married Thomas Golden on September 03, 1949.

She taught school in a one room school house. Later work at Bituminous Insurance in Rock Island. She retired from Bettendorf Health Care. She was a loving mother and grandmother, who had strong spiritual beliefs. She also loved animals and feeding birds. She enjoyed reading Bill Wundrum’s column and watching the Chicago Bulls.

She is survived by her children Sue (Gene) Hoover, Sharon (Mark) Hasstedt, Thomas Golden, Shelly (Skip) Haigh, Jerry (Kris) Golden, and David Golden. 13 grandchildren, 26 great- grandchildren, and 10 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded her parents, husband, daughter Sheila Wright, two brothers and two sisters.
