

Stevie Mac was born October 10, 1960 in Iowa. He was the son of Zeddie and Nancy (Allen) McDowell, Jr. He was baptized at the Progressive Baptist Church in Davenport. He played basketball throughout his high school career. He married Donna Lam on August 21, 1999 in Davenport. He retired from Oscar Mayer after 27 years of faithful service, in 2016. Music was a passion for him and he worked as a DJ for several years. He also enjoyed fishing and barbecuing, especially ribs. Stevie Mac also loved his cars, especially Cadillacs.
One of his favorite quotes that he will be fondly remembered for is, “You Heard Me.”
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Donna, parents, Zeddie Jr. and Nancy McDowell, Davenport, children: Trianna “La” McDowell and Steven “Craig” (Brittnie) McDowell Jr., all of East Moline, Kemia “Mia” McDowell, Davenport, Yumiko “Miko” Lam, Dee Lam and Derek “Mookie” Lam, all of Davenport, 18 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, siblings: Matt (Jackie) McDowell, Davenport, Mychael McDowell and his wife, Demitu Abdissa, Minneapolis, MN, Nathan McDowell, Kansas City and Cheryl (Billy) Easley, Davenport, brother-in-law, Jeff Lam and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. His grandparents: Rev. Zeddie and Vera McDowell Sr. and Leroy and Thelma Allen along with a brother, Jeffrey P. McDowell preceded him in death.
