Susan "Sue" Lynn Naley-MacKin

Susan “Sue” L. Naley-Mackin, 73 of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away Monday, August 12, 2024 at Genesis East Medical Center. Visitation will be on Saturday, August 17, 2024 from 12:00 – 1:00pm at Weerts Funeral Home; funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Sue will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials in Sue’s name may be made to a charity of your choice.

Sue was born on February 20, 1951 to Warren and Germaine Dennis in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Following high school, Sue earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Iowa. On September 8, 1992; she was united in marriage to Thomas Mackin; he passed away in 1995. Sue was an accountant for many years; she retired in 2005 from KartridgPak. One of her proudest achievements was being the first woman president of the Accounting Association of the Quad Cities. Sue was also a member of the Republican Woman’s Committee. She loved to spend her free time reading books, supporting her beloved Hawkeyes, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory are her bonus daughter Michelle (Michael) Schanz; grandchildren Brogan (Merideth) Schanz, Alec (Adyson) Schanz, Landon Schanz, Reece Schanz, Olivia Schanz, and Elias Schanz; great-grandchildren Zoey, Harper, Beau, and Gale; brothers John (Kandi) Dennis and Justin (Mary Jo) Dennis; best friend Una Greene; and her beloved dog Woflie.

She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and her parents.
