

Thomas “Tom” Wayne Lisco, 65, of Sherrard, IL, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, January 3, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Buffalo, IA. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice or QC Paws. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. He was born on April 4, 1948 in Davenport, IA, the son of Wayne George and Genevieve (Lykam) Lisco. He was united in marriage to Roberta “Kit” Carson on February 7, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV. Tom was selected as a young man by the Corps of Engineers to work in their data processing department. He was primarily responsible for the inception of computers and communications at the Corps of Engineers from where he retired after 39 years. During his employment he received many awards, such as Division Employee of The Year. Tom was exceptionally brave and positive during his five year battle with cancer. He loved working with genealogy and was still very involved with computers as a retired IT Specialist. When someone in the family had an issue they called Tom, “The Answer Man”, as he enjoyed helping people and was very generous with his knowledge and time. He could fix or build anything, loved the outdoors, had a great sense of humor and was multi-talented in many ways.
Survivors include his wife, Kit; daughter, Jennifer (Ron) Shipley, Muscatine; mother, Genevieve (Jack) Lambrecht, Phoenix; brother, Mike (Kay) Lisco, Racine WI; sister-in-law, Judy (Don) Hainline, Milan; brother-in-law, Jack (Jan) Carson, Buffalo; brother-in-law, Bill (Faye) Carson, Buffalo; sister-in-law, Barb Carson, Buffalo; brother-in-law, Dick (Gail) Carson, Buffalo; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Rusty Carson.
