Vera Price Boyd

She was surrounded by her family. Services will be Monday, January 22, 2024 at 2 pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Monday from noon until the 2 pm service, at the mortuary. She will be laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the family for Macular Degeneration Research. Online condolences may be left at www.rungemortuary.com.

Vera was born August 24, 1931 in Morrison, IA to Arthur and Sophia (Bulthuis) Collings. She married Stephen Price Jr. in 1949 to whom four children were born: Debra, Stephen “Randy,” Vicky and James. She married Otis D. “Big O” Boyd on April 10, 1991. They moved to Silvercrest Garner Farms in 2018. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2019. They had many happy years together. She had numerous jobs including being a realtor, insurance secretary and a secretary at the Rock Island Arsenal prior to her retirement.

Family was her life and she loved spending time with all of them.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Stephen “Randy” (Carol) Price, Orion, IL, Vicky (Steven) Price Clark, Donahue, IA; stepchildren: Carol Boyd, Sioux City, IA, Bart (Lourie) Boyd, Arizona and Clyde (Pat) Boyd Midland, MI; five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Otis, Vera was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Friederichs, son, James Kendall Price in infancy, a great great grandson and four sisters and one brother.
