Verlia M. Rabe

Verlia M. Rabe, 100, of Bettendorf passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the Iowa Masonic Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, March 28, 2017 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospitals. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Verlia was born May 25, 1916 in Davenport daughter of John and Verlia (Brockelle) Santee. Verlia Santee was united in marriage to Joseph A. Rabe March 19, 1935 in Davenport. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was employed as a music teacher for the Villa De Chantel, retiring in 1971. She own and operated her own music studio in Bettendorf, Le Cole De Musique. She was a person that enjoyed people and living life to the fullest. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Lavonne Rabe, Bettendorf; son Dan (Terri) Rabe, Davenport; grandchildren, Daniel (Laurie) and Patrick Purcell, Davenport; great grandchildren, Logan and Will. In addition to her parents and husband Verlia was preceded in death by a daughter, Verlia Purcell, son-in-law, Jack Purcell, brothers: Dan, Bill and John (Bus) Santee.
