Dr. Vincent L. Zerngast

Dr. Vincent L. Zerngast, 72, of Davenport, passed away Friday, July 13, 2012. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Tuesday at the Runge Mortuary, with a prayer service at 5 pm. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com. He was born December 2, 1939 in Jericho Springs, Missouri to Vincent H. and Arinona (McClendon) Zerngast. Vince served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1958-1960 and married Renate A. Poetzl of Augsburg, Germany in October 1960. In Ottumwa and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, he worked as assistant circulation manager for the Des Moines Register and circulation manager on the west side of Davenport. He was a graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic and owned and operated Park View Chiropractic Clinic in Park View, Iowa from 1988 until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Vince enjoyed working on cars and his computer. He and his wife travelled extensively to Europe and visited Australia and South America. He took pride in planning wonderful sightseeing trips for overseas visitors throughout the USA.
