

William A. Mangler, 90, of Davenport, IA, passed away Friday, March 26, 2021, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. A Graveside Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 2, at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. If you wish to attend the service, please meet at Weerts Funeral Home (3625 Jersey Ridge Rd, Davenport, IA, 52807) at 1:15 p.m., Friday, April 2, for procession to the Arsenal. William was born February 14, 1931, to Alvin and Doris Mangler in Bellevue, IA. He joined the U.S Army at a young age, serving for 20 years. While in the Army, William met his wife, Mitsue Enami, which were united in marriage on June 19, 1953 in Japan. He retired from the military as a First Sargent. During retirement, William owned and operated Kimberly Auto Center and Quad City Brake Supply. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking.
William is survived by his wife, Mitsue, of 67 years; children: Charles (Connie) Mangler, Janet (Randy) Mitchell, Gary (Melissa) Mangler; grandchildren: Nina, Natasha Jenna, Jaime, Jake, Ashley, Jarett, Cameron; great grandchildren: Kara, Kristen, Austin, Ellie, Jaxson, Mili, Shawn and Avi; a great-great grandchild, Carter; and siblings: James (Trainer) Mangler and wife Evy, and Jeanne Pemberton.
