

William “Dave” David Ripley 90 of Bettendorf, Iowa passed away on April 12th, 2026. A Renaissance man who overcame a rough start on a farm in Muscatine, IA. He ended up leaving a lasting impression with anyone who met him. A successful self-made individual who valued family, friends and was full of compassion for others. Dave left Mill’s Chevrolet as a sales manager in the mid 1960’s to start in the Manufactured Housing business. He was a community owner and sold thousands of homes. He was very involved in the industry and was a key part of the Iowa Manufactured Housing Association where he was a past president and lifetime board member. He retired after selling his business in 2022.
Dave was a flying enthusiast and acquired his pilot’s license at the age of 17. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Dave and Reba traveled to over 30 countries including Russia during the cold war. He also served in the National Guard where he earned multiple Expert shooting medals. He was a fan of collectable cars, model trains and wine. The rest of his accomplishments are too many to express in few words. Dave worked hard and played hard.
He is survived by Reba Sue Ripley, his wife of 66 years, sister Aleda (Allen) Carlson, sons Steve (Lori) Ripley and Jason Ripley.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Please share condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com .
