Carol Jean Maurer

Passed away on June 14, 2022 after a sudden brief illness at Sacred Heart

Medical Center in Spokane. She was born Feb. 2, 1940 in Odessa, WA to

Fred and Esther Becker. She attended school and graduated from

Harrington High School. She later married Donald “Bud” Maurer on July

25, 1959 in Harrington, WA. She farmed and ranched with her husband in

the Harrington and Davenport area for 37 years before moving to Moses

Lake, WA with Bud. After her husband passed away she moved to

Moscow, ID, where she resided at the time of her passing. Carol enjoyed

gardening, crocheting and crafts and helping her husband on the farm and

ranch. She always explained her strong grip as a result of milking cows as

a child growing up on the farm. Carol is survived by her three children Rita

(Jim) Bergevin, Daniel (Leslie) Maurer and Dennis (Jessie) Maurer along

with her four grandchildren Joey (Cassie) Bergevin, Charli (Dillon) Holmes,

Katie (Dylan Johnson) Maurer and Sarah Maurer and five great

grandchildren Luke, Holly and Spencer Holmes and Jimmy and Jaycee

Bergevin. She is preceded in death by her husband Bud in 2015, parents,

and her sister Janice in 1995. Graveside services will be held on Monday,

June 20, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Hillcrest Cemetery, Harrington, WA.
