Donald "Don" Lee Smith

Passed away April 1, 2025 in Spokane, WA his home Odessa, WA. Don was born June 6, 1938 in Odessa, WA to Marcus and Anna Smith. He grew up in Odessa and attended school. He married Janet Walter on Aug 23, 1954 in Davenport, WA and three children were born to this marriage Debbie, Colby and Sidney. Janet passed away March 18, 1957. Don farmed with his brothers on the Smith Brothers ranch before staring his own business “Smith Air” and was a Arial Applicator and later a Real Estate agent. Don married Mavis Wolff on June 30, 1960 in Spokane, WA and they added two more children to the family RoxAnn and Mark. The family moved from the farm into Odessa in 1974. Don was a member of the Odessa Fire Dept and Odessa EMT’s, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Realtors Association, NRA. Don is survived by his five children; Debbie (Tom) Weishaar, Colby Smith (Mario Padilla), Sidney (Polly) Smith, RoxAnn (Ron) Sherwood and Mark (Denys) Smith along with 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife Janet in 1957, his wife Mavis in 2020, two brothers Bill and Ben Smith and a sister Irene Marchand and an infant great grandson. A Rosary service will be held on Friday April 11, 2025 at 7:00 PM at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Odessa, WA followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will be held at the Odessa Cemetery, Odessa, WA.. Memorials may be may to the Odessa Fire Dept., Odessa EMT’s, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or donor's choice.
