He was born in Odessa, Washington on August 16, 1970 to Bill and Georgina Nicholls. He was raised on the family farm located in Davenport and graduated from Davenport High School in 1989. He attended EWU for a month and decided that college life was not for him. He loved the farm life, and his childhood brought many happy memories. He decided to live on the farm as an adult, and settled on a piece of land close to the homestead where he was raised. He continued to help his father with farm work. Travis’ loves in life were his family, friends, animals and play time. His hobbies included muscle cars, motorcycles, ATVs, and water sports. He was employed at Mick's auto where he enjoyed working on engines and serving the community he was raised in. He also worked for a small period of time with Patriot Plumbing. He was very dependable and had good work ethics. He knew just about everyone and everyone knew him. He had an infectious laugh, and a wonderful sense of humor. He had a quick wit, and you had to have your game on while conversing with him otherwise you would be outwitted quickly. He found a stray kitten behind Mick’s Auto one day and adoption was inevitable. He was especially proud of his cat Tigress who kept him company and frequently brought home “dinner” dead or alive. He is survived by his sister Chris Tareski, brother-in-law Mick Tareski, his sister Shannon Fleming, brother-in-law Scott Fleming, sister-in-law Mary Nicholls, three nieces and eight nephews. Travis was preceded in death by his mother Georgina Rodeck Nicholls, father Bill Nicholls, and brother Shawn Nicholls. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Strate Funeral Home in Davenport, WA. Pastor Phil Falk will officiate. A gathering of remembrance will follow the memorial service at Mick’s Auto. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association or to the donor’s choice. Strate Funeral Home, Davenport, WA is caring for the family.
