

Jerry John Bucek was born in New York City August 14th, 1930, to parents Louis and Agnes Bucek. Survived by his wife, Frances Elizabeth Rublik Bucek of 72 years. Survived by children Mary Ann Bucek-Kenny/John Kenny, Barbara Castillo/Luis Castillo, Suzy Pennacchia, Eric Alban/Amy Alban, brother Ed Rublik/Betty Haskell, grandchildren Robert Castillo, Ana Castillo Smith/Todd Smith, Tracy Williamson/Justin Williamson, Amelia Bucek/Derek Dobson, Nicole Stein/Derek Sunshine, Naomi, Nathaly and Erika Alban, great-grandchildren Allison Smith, Henry Bucek and Roger Dobson, Maya Sunshine, Dahlia Sunshine, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jerry is preceded in death by brother Stanley/Anne Rublik, sister Helen/Lorne Zimmer.
Jerry grew up in Bayside, Queens, where he lived and also raised his family. His Alma Mater was the Bayside High. Jerry was a veteran of the Korean War in the branch of the Army. Worked 19 years for Amerada Oil, and he was the proprietor for Franks Liquors of Bayside, Queens. At the age of 50, he and his wife Fran retired to Davie, Florida, where he enjoyed playing golf and going to the casino. Every year of their marriage, they drove their car to Canada, where they spent their vacations, and he enjoyed the farm life, horse races with his father-in-law Frank, and golf. He was very fortunate to have gotten six holes in one that were witnessed and documented. He loved playing games, doing crossword puzzles and his favorite game was yahtzee, and he loved his yahtzee family.
Jerry was a fun-loving, quick-witted, highly intelligent, financially savvy, loving husband and a wonderful father. He will be greatly missed, but for 95 years, he truly mastered the game of life.
