Alice J. Pleva, age 81, formerly of Beavercreek, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton, Hospice House. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul C. Pleva, Jr., parents, Leo and Rose Spatz; sister, Caroline Pultz; and brother, Paul Spatz. She is survived by her children Rosemary (David) Flynn and Paul Michael Pleva, and grandchildren Alex Pleva, Terence Flynn, Alyssa Pleva, Mary Flynn and Fiona Flynn. Alice’s passion was teaching, believing that every child was able to learn and deserved a quality and individualized education. She taught in area Catholic schools for decades. After retiring from St. Luke Catholic School, she was a volunteer at the National Museum of the USAF and the Beavercreek Senior Center. Alice was an active member of St. Luke Parish.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, August 8, 2025, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 1440 N. Fairfield Rd., Beavercreek. The family will receive friends at the Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. on Thursday, August 7, from 5–7 pm.
