Shutt, Alva L.(Wasson),93, of Dayton, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Village at the Greene Nursing Home. She is preceded in death by her parents Albert and Nellie (Bardwell) DeFries. Survived by her children Diane (Edward) Whitaker, Richard Wasson and significant other Melanie Charles, Bob (Janet) Wasson; brother Keith DeFries: grandchildren Nathan (Kate), Samantha (Andrew), Jesse (Karissa), Jack, Vanessa (Eric), Angie (Greg) and Zach (Claire); great-grandchildren Nolan, Finn, Brandon, Hailey, Hannah, Bryce, Reagan, Kylie, Emma, Avery and Gracie. She retired as a secretary after many years working in the insurance industry; was very active in church when she lived in South Dakota and in Mesa, Arizona where she was also the treasurer of the church. She enjoyed travelling and spending time gardening and loved baking. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton in her memory.
