Age 55, born June 30, 1963 in Vandenberg AFB, California, passed away unexpectedly at home in Miamisburg, Ohio on December 31, 2018, due to natural causes.
Brad enjoyed music, playing the drums, bicycling, skateboarding, skiing, snowboarding, and frisbee golf. Most of all Brad loved to help others. His fellow residents at the Miamisburg Manor Apartments reveled in his unyielding ability to help them with a warm and glowing smile on his face.
Brad graduated from Kiser High School in 1981. Brad was a caretaker in his earlier years following graduation and then transitioned into his innately creative and artful skilled trade working as a mason for Hestor Masonry.
Brad was preceded in death by his father, Earl W. Gwathney in 1978; his beloved mother, G. Yvonne Gwathney in 1997; and his paternal grandmother, Berniece Wilcox in 2000. Brad is survived by his daughter, Molly Gwathney of Vandalia, OH; daughter Kymberley Gwathney of Kettering, OH; son, Connor Gwathney of Miamisburg, OH; sister, Letty Kovich of Lancaster, SC; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Teresa Gwathney of Germantown, OH; grand daughter, Nia Gwathney of Vandalia, OH; aunt, Jacky Kellogg of Columbus, OH; uncle, Bill Wilcox of Grand Prairie, TX; niece, Lindsey Kovich of Charlotte, NC; niece, Alison Kovich of Pittsburg, PA; nephew,Timothy Kovich of Portland, OR; nephew, Andrew Kovich of New York City, NY; niece, Anna Grant of Germantown, OH; niece, Lisa Valentine of Germantown, OH; two step nephews, Wesley Lawson of Dayton, OH and Andrew Lawson of Columbus, OH; numerous cousins; and his beloved best friends Carl Fann and Tish Campbell of Dayton, OH.
Private services for the family will be held at Tobias Funeral Home, Kettering, OH. The planned celebration of Brad's joyful and caring life to be shared with his family and friends is tentatively scheduled on his birthday weekend this year (the weekend of June 30).
