Brenda Dorothy Hurst

Brenda Dorothy Hurst (Schell) was born on July 10, 1940 in Dayton, OH and passed away on July 14, 2025 at Hospice of Dayton. Brenda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother who was devoted to her family. She was a wonderful cook who always made sure to make you a special meal or dessert and you never left her house hungry. She made the best turkey/dressing, chocolate cake, cherry pie, and peanut butter fudge that was heavenly. Brenda always supported Fred, Jeff, and Steve’s sports and hobbies and she never missed a ball game that the boys played in. She loved watching all sports. She was always going the extra mile for Fred, Jeff, and Steve and was even known to polish the wheels on the race car.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 66 years Fred J. Hurst, son, Steve F. Hurst, grandchildren, Jennifer Hurst, Brian Hurst, Dr. Michael Hurst, Stephanie Hurst, Courtney Hurst, great grandson, Travis Butts, daughter-in-law Leslie Hurst, former daughter-in-law Shay Hurst, brother and sister-in-law Johnny and Judy Schell, aunt Millie Lyons, and several cousins. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Wynona Jenkins (Greer), John Schell, and son, Jeff M. Hurst.

Visitation for Brenda will be on Thursday, July 17, 2025 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Tobias Funeral Home in Beavercreek. Brenda’s services will be on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 9:30am, officiated by Pastor Tim Walden and burial will be at Byron Cemetery near her beloved son Jeff.
