Carol Jean Wakeley

WAKELEY, Carol Jean (Wells), age 78 of Kettering, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at her residence. Carol was born on November 3, 1936 in Dayton to the late Chester and Annabelle Holmes Wells. She was also preceded in death by her brother David Lee Wells. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert L.; children, Cindy (Wakeley) and John Campbell, Pam (Wakeley) and Howard Folz, Bob and Teresa Wakeley; grandchildren, Bradley Wright, Brian and Liz (Folz) Schmittou, Dan and Nikki Folz, Amanda Wakeley, Robby Wakeley, Laura Wakeley; great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Lilly, Claire, Drew, Noah, Adalynn. Carol graduated from Wilbur Wright High School in 1954. She married her high school sweetheart on June 18, 1955. Carol was a homemaker and worked very hard to create a warm and loving home for her husband and 3 children. She volunteered at Kettering Hospital in the nursery for 20+ years. She was a member of Church of the Cross United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at the Church of the Cross, 3121 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, Ohio 45440, with the funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Pastor John C. Whitaker officiating. Burial at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
