

DERSHEM, Constance Sue “Connie”, of Springboro, passed away peacefully February 20, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton with her husband Fred by her side. She was born on January 12, 1954 in Dayton, Ohio to Richard E. and Betty L. (McGill) Florkey. She graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School in 1972. She was employed through the years at N.C.R, Smith Corona, Washington Township Fire Department and recently retired from Morning Sun Florists. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed cooking, sewing, her grandchildren and family. Preceded in death by her father and a sister Pat. She is survived by her husband Fred, mother Betty Florkey, sisters Kathi Florkey, Mary (Mark) Gentry, brothers Richard Florkey, Dan Florkey, Joe (Becky) Florkey, John (Kim) Florkey and Steve Florkey, aunts Pat Florkey, Sylvia Fisher, Mary Ellen Miller and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Stepchildren Carmen (David) Ballard, Dusty (Maria) Dershem and grandchildren Cole, Blake, Bret, Ella, Julia and Dean. She leaves behind many friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45429. Funeral services 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, with Rev. Suzanne Allen officiating. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to the First United Methodist Church of Springboro following burial. Donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton in Connie’s memory.
