

ESTRY, Daniel Carl “DC”, age 30, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015 in Dayton, Ohio. DC was born on January 26, 1985 in Lexington, Mississippi to Daniel Jay and Karen Kay Glazier Estry. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Beth” Neil Glander Estry; parents; brother, Captain Jonathan W. Estry; sisters, Natalie (Shannon) Duffy, Amelia Emily-Kay Estry, Abigail V. Estry; maternal grandmother, Florence J. Glazier; parents-in-law, Laura & George Glander; and brother-in-law, Ian Glander. DC resided in Venezuela, South America from September 1987 until May 1999. After returning to Florida, DC volunteered hundreds of hours working within the Nature Center of the Orlando Science Center. He earned his second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do in the spring of 2003. DC graduated Valedictorian from Gold Medal Honors Academy, DeLand, Florida, May 2003. He received a Presidential Scholarship from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida, August 2003. DC enlisted with the U.S. Army August 2007, served one year in Iraq 2010 in military intelligence, and was honorably discharged October 2013 after earning the rank of Specialist. During his service in the U.S. Army, DC received two Army Commendation Medals, an Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and Overseas Service Ribbon. DC earned his Associate Science Degree in computer electronic technology December 2008 from Cochise College, Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and he was employed as a Computer Support Technician for Northrop Grumman. DC was known for his deep love for and commitment to his family, his love for reading and creative writing, his gifted intelligence, and a deep appreciation for animals. A graveside funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2015. Final resting place Oaklawn Park Cemetery, Sanford, Florida.
