
PLATTEN, Dolly M. age 96, passed away peacefully September 8, 2015 at Trinity Community in Beavercreek. Dolly was born November 9, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, John Randall Platten. Dolly is survived by her daughter Pamela S. Rusick of Kettering; her son David A. Platten and his wife Babs of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren Erica and Brad Rusick, and Randall and Paulina Platten. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy M. McCarley of Leavenworth, Kansas and brother-in-law James F. Platten and his wife Joan of Charles Town, West Virginia. Dolly initially worked as a secretary at The Ohio State University where her husband, John, earned his degree in industrial engineering. After moving to Kettering in 1960 and being a “stay-at-home mom”, she worked in a private physician medical office for many years prior to retirement. The family would like to thank the staff at Trinity Community, and in particular David, for their care over the past four years, and Hospice of Dayton for their recent care and comfort offered to Dolly.
