Donald F. Elmore, 81 of Dayton, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2022, at Bethany Village in Dayton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milford and Margaret (Hole) Elmore, and a sister, Peggy (Dave) Davis. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara (Glover) Elmore, and three sons: Greg (Cheryl) Elmore of Springboro, Jeff (Linda) Elmore of Beavercreek, and Steve (Donna) Elmore of IN. Six grandchildren also survive him: Jaclyn (Josh) Little, Cory, Morgan (fiancé Daniel Kirwan), Michael, Nicholas, and Jacob Elmore. Donald graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 1964 with a Mechanical Engineering degree; he worked his entire career in the printing press industry in Dayton at Harris Graphics, and also in Cincinnati and Green Bay, WI. Following his retirement in 2001, he and Barbara moved to Florida and enjoyed the warm weather there until returning home to Dayton in 2018. He loved traveling and did so extensively throughout the world on both business and pleasure. He especially enjoyed annual houseboat trips to Lake Cumberland with friends. Memorial services will be held at the Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, OH 45432 at 4 PM on Friday, October 7, 2022. Friends may gather with the family beginning at 3 PM the day of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Don’s memory.
