He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, on October 29, 1929. After he graduated from Ohio University in 1947 with a degree in civil engineering, he then served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He worked at the City of Dayton as a civil engineer until his retirement when he continued working as a consultant at Woolperts Engineering Consultants.
Donald is survived by his two sons, Timothy D. (Brenda Susan) Mann, and Gregory J. (Gloria Jean) Mann; grandchildren, Chloe' V. (Lance Hall) Mann, Sarah E. Mann, Emily K. (Jeremy) Geren; great-grandchildren, Layla Noel Hall, Spencer Greyson Geren; his girlfriend Bobbi Markley; a brother, Daniel Mann, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Thelma R. Mann; parents, Henry and Garnet; brothers, Richard, Dale, and Albert; sisters, Frankie, Mary Alice, and Libby.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
