

WARNER, Donald Richard, age 92 of Dayton passed away in his sleep on Monday, May 26, 2014 Memorial Day morning at the Dayton Hospice Center. He was born January 9, 1922 to Harry B. and Lucille (Dunhan) Warner in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School, enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and served as a Storekeeper First Class at the U.S. Base #717 in Milne Bay, New Guinea in the Southwest Pacific during WW II. Ne married Mary Jane Honious, July 18, 1945 and after the war worked 36 years as a civil service accountant and later computer analyst, for the Defense Electronics Supply Center. In 1952 he built the family home where he lived until his passing. He was a member of Far Hills Lodge F & AM for over 50 years and Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton. Don is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mary Jane; sisters, Mary C. Davis and Shirley A. McClenanan; sister-in-law, JoAnn Warner; son, Thomas A. Warner; daughter, Jonell Winters and husband Charlie; eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Nothing gave him greater joy than his family. Memorial service 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 Alex-Bell Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45459. Rev. Jim Riggs officiating. Private burial Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
