WHITE, Dorothy M. (Marburger), age 95, lifelong resident of Kettering, Ohio ended her earthly journey to be with her heavenly Father and family on September 11, 2015. Dorothy was the fifth child of the twelve children born to Ralph M. and Bessie E. (Kremer) Marburger. She was born July 1, 1920 at home in Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, Kettering, Ohio and had the distinction of being the oldest living member and the oldest member. She began attending Sugar Creek Church in 1926 and was very active throughout her life. She served as deacon for many years, was a member of many women’s circles, and was instrumental in her mission to serve others through her talented cooking skills and was especially famous for her delicious cakes. She helped organize the Dorcus support group for the widows of the church. She was the first woman at Sugar Creek Church to receive the Honorary Life Membership, Presbyterian Women in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Inc. She was also a 50 year member of the Order or Eastern Star, Belmont Chapter #555. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 49 years, Paul White, two sons, Lonnie White and John White, two son-in-laws, Ted Studebaker and Bob Halsall, seven brothers, Ralph, William, Paul, George, Earl, John, and Charles Marburger, and two sisters, Nellie Locke and Bessie Michael. She is survived by daughters Janice Studebaker and Judy Halsall, a brother, Richard Marburger, a sister, Ruth Manning, five grandchildren, Todd Studebaker (wife Terri), Lisa Berlon (husband Jim), Ronald White (wife Patti), Robert White, and Charles White, 5 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, many nieces, nephews, dear friends and relatives, and was “Grandma White” to many who loved her. The family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the loving doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Hospice of Dayton, especially our dear caregiver “Ben”. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the TOBIAS NFUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL , 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd, Dayton, Ohio from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd, Kettering, Ohio with Reverend Dr. John J. Skelly officiating. Interment will follow at Miami Valley Memorial Gardens.
