

Douglas Alexander Wilson, 75, of Centerville, OH, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016. He was born in 1941 in Jackson, MI, to Alexander Rae and Louise (Lincoln) Wilson and graduated from Jackson High School in 1959. He earned a B.A. from Alma College, Alma, MI (1963), an M. Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary (1966), and a D. Min. from McCormick Theological Seminary (1988).Ordained in 1966, Doug served as a minister in churches in Alma, MI, Cass City, MI, and at First Presbyterian Church of Yellow Springs from 1974-1985. He had a 3-month pastoral exchange with Rev. Haisley Moore of Old Wishaw Parish Church, Scotland (his father’s childhood parish) in the summer of 1980. In 1985, he became the Associate Executive Presbyter for the East Iowa Presbytery in Iowa City, IA. In 1995, he joined the national staff of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) as the Associate for Evangelism. He retired in 2006 and was an honorably retired member of the Mid-Kentucky Presbytery of Louisville. Doug is survived by his loving wife, Anne Meredith Wilson; four children, Lynne Wilson (Andy Myhrum) of New York, NY, Mark Snyder (Jennifer) of Yellow Springs, OH, Steven Snyder (Debbie) of Ashdown, AR, and Chris Snyder (Julie) of Miamisburg, OH; five grandchildren, Marsha Adams Tavitas (Will), Jennifer Snyder Uresti (Michael), Samantha Snyder, Michael Snyder, and Bethany Snyder; five greatgrandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, January 4 at 1 p.m., with a reception to follow.
