Earl Leroy WELLBAUM, “Lee” age 84 of Kettering passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. Lee was born March 8, 1929 in West Milton, Ohio to the late Maxine and Arthur Wellbaum also preceding him in death his sister, Barbara Hamilton. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Shirley Wellbaum; daughters, Debra Wellbaum and Lee Ann Elam; sons, Michael Wellbaum, Thomas Wellbaum and Louis Knock; sister, Zoe Bundschuh; grandchildren: Jeffrey, Christopher, Brandon and Dustin Wellbaum, Taylor and Tiffany Elam, Meredith Murphy, David and Michael Knock; great grandchildren: Elise, Audrey, Claire, Ellyn and Noah Wellbaum and Trey Elam. Lee was a founding member of the Dayton Triangles/Colts a semipro football team and a member of the Hall of Fame. Lee was a Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy for 22 years. Memorial service will be held at 4 pm Saturday, March 1, 2014 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – BELMONT CHAPEL, 648 Watervliet Ave. with Pastor Don Payne officiating. Friends may call 3 pm until time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in memory of Lee to Hospice of Dayton.
