

NYPAVER, Edward William, 84, of Kettering, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015. Edward served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his honorable discharge he pursued a degree in civil engineering from the University of Pittsburg. His professional career began at the U.S. Patent Office in Washington DC while attending law school at George Washington University. He received his Juris Doctor degree in 1961 and passed the bar exam in 1962. He practiced Intellectual Property law until his retirement from Wright Patterson Air Force base as Chief, Patent and Data Investigations Branch, Directorate of Intellectual Property Law in 1997. He enjoyed his retirement years spending time with family, playing golf, working as a tutor for the Miami Valley READS program, and following the Pittsburg Steelers. He had a charming personality, sly wit, mild disposition and was well liked by all those whose lives he touched. Left to honor his memory are Linda Parker of Naperville, IL., Laurie Carpenter of Buffalo, NY., Shawn Duquette (Lee Stewart) of Sterling, VA., Linnette (Wade) McLean of Beavercreek, OH., and Lisa Nypaver of Kettering, OH.; sister Mary Kay Bjork of Upper Marlboro, MD.; ten grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mass of Christian Burial will be held January 16, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 4500 Ackerman Blvd., Dayton, OH 45429, with interment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel 5471 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, OH 45429.
