
ZONARS, Frank C. age 90, passed away September 3, 2015. Frank was born on October 2, 1924 in Dayton to the late Constantine and Stella Zonaras; he is also preceded in death by his sister Harriet and brother Tom. Frank is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Irene "Nikki”, four children: Stella Pseekos (Jim), Suzanne Hambrick (Craig), Stephen Zonars (Patti) and Stephanie Zonars, grandchildren: Eleni Hambrick, Joshua Hambrick (Jordan), Alex Pseekos (Kristen), and Frank Zonars, great-grandchildren: Lylah Hambrick and Thomas Pseekos, and a brother George Zonaras(Katie).
Frank was a WWII Army veteran serving in Hawaii and Japan. Starting as a tool and machine designer, Frank and partner Bill Hutchison established and successfully ran U.S. Design Service for 32 years. An active member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, Frank served tirelessly in the rose garden and at the Greek Festival for many years. Frank achieved the title Master Gardener, was a long-time member of Walnut Grove Country Club and was an avid Cincinnati Reds and UD Basketball fan. Frank loved his family and dedicated his life to providing them with every opportunity to be successful.
Family will receive friends Monday, September 7, 2015 from 4:00PM to 6:00PM at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel, with Trisagion service at 5:00PM. Funeral service 12:00 PM Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at the Greek Orthodox Church, 500 Belmonte Park N., Dayton, OH., with Fr. Mark Emroll officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the memorial fund at the Greek Orthodox Church.
