Fred L. Shepherd

SHEPHERD, Frederick Leslie, Jr., age 84, of Centerville, passed away Monday, July 22nd, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton. Fred was born March 15th, 1929 in Newark, Ohio to Frederick L. Sr. and Mae Louise (French) Shepherd. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Dorothy, and daughter Kim Shepherd. He is survived by his daughter Pam Lamb and husband Marc of Washington Township, son Chip and wife Laura of Colorado Springs, sisters Donna Shepherd of Peebles, OH and Mary Lee Maher (John) of AZ, brother- in-law Bob Hipp and wife Dolores of Centerville, precious grandchildren Molly, Marc, Katy, Holly and Alec, nieces Debbie Schmidt (Rick) and Tara Hipp (Morgan), special daughter in law Connie McCarroll and close friends Bonnie and Ronnie Sword. Fred was a graduate of Fairview High School class of ‘47. He worked at Dayton Power & Light for over 30 years and had a second career as a Lake Erie charter captain. He loved his family, sports, fishing, and old movies. The family will receive visitors from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday July 26th at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Centerville, Ohio 45429, with funeral services Saturday, July 27th at 9:30 A.M. at Sugar Creek Presbyterian Church, 4417 Bigger Rd., Kettering, Ohio 45440.
