Frederick George McNeal, born Oct 21, 1940 in Dayton Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Oct 8, 2019. Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sondra (Horn) along with his loving daughters Dana Pearson (Vince) and Christina Ragland (Jason), granddaughters Megan Pearson and Marina Ragland, and his recently born great granddaughter Autumn. He is also survived by his sister Nancy Wolf (Ron) and brother Jack McNeal (Mary Lee) and nieces Carrie, Amy, Tessa and Julia. There are also a great number of relatives from his wife’s family who will love and miss Uncle Freddie. A combat veteran of Vietnam, Fred worked with the NSA. He then worked for NCR and moved into private business owning several gas and service stations around the Dayton area known as “Fred’s Sunoco” and finishing his working career owning Denlinger’s Garage on North Main. Fred enjoyed many family vacations to Atlantic Beach, NC and his favorite fishing spot; Lunge Haven Cottages in Lindsey Ontario, Canada where the big one almost always got away. In addition to fishing, his passions included morel mushroom hunting, gardening, and as a mastercraftman; refinishing a whole manner of shooting weaponry both modern and antique. Freds life will be celebrated with family and friends at Tobias Funeral Home in Belmont Friday Oct 18 4-730 pm concluding with a Flag Ceremony from members of the United States Air Force.
