
BUCHANAN, Helen I. “Becky” age 89, passed away peacefully Friday, April 13, 2012 at the Hospice of Dayton. She was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio to the late Wilfred and Leota Brecht. Becky was a lifelong member of the Hope United Methodist Church. She was also the founder of the South Suburban Republican Club, a Precinct Captain, and very active in the Montgomery County Republican Party and TWIGS. Becky also enjoyed crafts she participated in many craft shows and even had her own business. She was the loving wife for 61 years to the late Walter Buchanan. She is also preceded in death by their son Douglas Buchanan. Becky is survived by her children; Carole(Tom)Bruton of Arlington, TX., son Jeff Buchanan of Washington Township, daughter-in-law Freida Buchanan of Shelbyville, IN., grandchildren; Sarah Martin of Boerne, TX., Edward Hoover of Washington DC., seven great-grandchildren, her sister Dorothy Thompson of Beavercreek, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Family will receive friends 4 to 7 pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-Far Hills Chapel; where service will be held 10:00 am Thursday, with Rev. Victoria Powers-Smith officiating.
