BARNWELL-SMITH, Jan Marie (nee Shafer), age 55, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, December 7, 2012 in Dayton, Ohio. Jan is survived by her husband of 4 years, Gilbert L. Smith; her son Paul Barnwell; step-children: Jeremy, Stacy, Tyler and Trevor; her brother Tim (Lori) Shafer; and 3 grandchildren Levi, Gideon, and Bradley; and special family members Vicki Compton and Trevor. Jan was a member of the Belmont graduating class of 1975. She was a caring person and will be sincerely missed by all who knew her. A gathering of family and friends will take place at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME – Belmont Chapel, 648 Watervliet Ave. at Fauver, on Thursday, December 13, 2012 from 12 pm to 2 pm. Burial will take place at Woodland Cemetery. Family and friends may also join together after the services to raise a glass and share a memory or two at the Shroyer Inn, 1028 Shroyer Rd. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Jan’s memory to the Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
