Jane graduated from Roosevelt High School, class of 1946. Following graduation, she met the man of her dreams Walter, and settled down in the Dayton to raise her family. Jane was an avid gardner, receiving several awards from the City of Kettering for her flower gardens. She was an art student in early years at the Dayton Art Museum specializing in chalks and water colors which she creatively infused in all her life. Jane volunteered at the Corner Cupboard for 32 years where she was able to serve others.
Jane was very proud of her children and grandchildren and they were all very proud of her. Her love for animals was a gift she gave to her children which extended to how she cared for people, especially those who were hurting or in need. God greeted her in heaven and praised her for the example she set by her love and caring of others. This made her a special person in the hearts of those who were blessed to have known her. She will be forever loved and remembered by her family.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Blake, granddaughter Sara Blake, twin sister June Tietmeyer (Howell), and brother Donald Howell. She is survived by her daughter Karen Qualls and her husband Larry of West Chester, son David Blake and his wife Shari of Centerville, son Gary Blake and his wife Jamie of Springboro, son Russell Blake of Clarksville, Tennessee; and 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In lieu of a service Jane would ask that her family and friends remember her for who she was and how much she loved them. Jane wished all memorial gifts and contribution be made to SICSA, The Tenth Life, Dayton Humane Society, or Hospice of Dayton. Condolences may be expressed at www.tobiasfuneralhome.com
