Jesse L. Griffin

Griffin, Jesse L., 82, of Kettering, passed away Tuesday, March 6, at Sanctuary at Wilmington Place. He is preceded in death by his wife Olive K. (Ollie) Griffin. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Allen and Carolyn Channell of Vandalia; daughter and son-in-law Karen and Robert Cowen of Pensacola Beach, FLA; brother Gray Griffin of Texas; grandchildren Jeff Channell, Chris Klimkowski and husband Paul, Melinda Wagner and husband Don; niece Lois Wysong of FLA; 7 great-grandchildren; best friends Junior and Geneva Davidson; his faithful dog Bubbles. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War. He was a career man and also retired from the Southwestern Portland Cement Co. after his 21 years in the Air Force. He was awarded the Air Force Longevity Award with 4 bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Service Medal with 2 bronze service stars, Republic of Viet Nam Company Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal and the Air Force Presidential Outstanding Award. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Friday, March 9, 2012 at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME- BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd. at Grange Hall Rd. Rev. H. C. O’Bryant officiating.
