McKINNEY, John Thomas, age 89 of Kettering passed away early Thursday, morning December 27, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton. John was born on October 10, 1929 in Monongahela PA to the late William and Louella Scarborough McKinney, where he graduated from High School. He entered the Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1971 with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He is survived by his sister, Lois; his wife, Elizabeth Helldoerfer McKinney; his former wife, Gladys; 4 children, John A., Barbara, Jeffrey, and Scott; 2 step children; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild, who were a wonderful gift to him. John will be greatly missed. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., Kettering, Ohio 45429, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John’s name to Hospice of Dayton, Air Force Aid Society, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
