In 1922, June was born in Cleveland, OH to parents Valborg and Roy Hassel. Her mother, Valborg Olsen, was born in Sweden and emigrated to America as a teenager. June was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James W. Butler, and her younger sister, Jean Adelman. June graduated from High School in Cleveland, OH and after graduation, worked as a legal secretary until she met her husband, Jim. When World War II began, Jim joined the Air Force and the newly married couple was transferred to different bases throughout the country. An admired go-getter, June worked for the USO wherever they were based. After the war they returned to Cleveland, OH and soon thereafter had a baby girl that they named Andrea. With a family in place, Jim was offered the position of manager for a newly opened office of Pacific Life Insurance. Now that they were settled June went to night school, taking courses of everything from Astrology to Public Speaking. June enjoyed a wonderful life full of learning and loving and giving back whenever she was asked. June accumulated six thousand volunteer hours at Kettering Medical Center. And she enjoyed every last second of them! June is survived by her daughter, Andrea Butler, and her nephew, Roger Lipstreu (Debbie). No public memorial services are planned.
