Kathleen Ann O'Brien

She graduated from Julienne High School in 1959, and earned her B.A. in Education from Miami University, Oxford OH, in 1965.

There she met her husband, John S. O’Brien, Jr. They were married from 1967 until he predeceased her in 2025.

She taught at Valley Elementary School, Beavercreek, from 1964-1967. She then served as a home instruction tutor, and later, a substitute teacher, for Beavercreek Schools until she retired.

She attended St. Luke Parish in Beavercreek, and St. John Bosco Chapel.

She was a life member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, and served as treasurer of the local chapter for many years. She was also a member of the Greene County Retired Teachers Association, the Beavercreek Women’s League, and the Beavercreek Women’s Republican Club.

Surviving her are her two sons, Sean P. O’Brien of Alexandria VA, and Kevin M. O’Brien of Beavercreek; her daughter, Maureen S. O’Brien of Fairborn; her brother, John Hale; and eight nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wed. May 20, 2026, at Tobias Funeral Home, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, from 4 - 6 PM.

Funeral Mass will be on Thurs. May 21, 2026, at St. John Bosco Chapel, Catholic Campus Ministry, 2650 Col. Glenn Hwy. (inside Wright State University, behind Allyn Hall and along University Blvd.).

Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
