

Ken was preceded in death by his son, Josh, his parents, Paul and Connie Brewer, his in-laws, Charles and Lois Corbet and is survived by his wife, Audrey, son, Bobby (Jenni) and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Ken started life with his maternal Sicilian family in Brooklyn; moved to Hillsboro, Ohio for a time during his elementary school years; moved back and forth between Brooklyn and Kettering, Ohio. Ken attended several different elementary and middle schools during his growing years and graduated from Kettering Fairmont High School in 1961. He entered the Marine Corp on November 3, 1961 at 17. His basic training was at Pendleton, California followed by avionic training at Memphis, Tennessee (with a short deployment to a ship during the Cuban Missile Crisis); then he went to Quantico, Virginia to work on the flight line before going to Japan to fly missions in the Far East during the early days of the Vietnam War. Ken was discharge on January 1, 1966.
Ken worked at Bendix where he met Audrey Corbet. They married March 2, 1974 and lived in Kettering until August, 1982 when they moved to Greene County, Ohio. They adopted 2 boys, Robert (Bobby) and Joshua, in May, 1984. Ken later worked for System Research Labs and various other base contractors progressing from a programmer to software/project manager. He became a realtor for a couple of years, sold wine at Lofino’s and Fairfield Wine before retiring in 2009.
During those years he had a quadruple bypass in 2000 (when his type 2 diabetics was also discovered) and was treated for non-Hodge’s Lymphoma from 2010 to 2014 when it went into remission.
Ken got active in the local American Wine Society (AWS)in 1982. Ken served as chair for the Springfield chapter for several years, became a national AWS certified wine judge in 1987, taught wine judge training. Ken was President of the national AWS in 1995, served on the AWS Education Foundation board. Ken chaired the AWS National Conference committee from 2003 until 2008 and was awarded the AWS Outstanding Member award in 2005.
Ken was also active in the Tripod Camera club of Dayton.
His health did not allow him to celebrate his 80th birthday or 50th wedding anniversary, this event also will serve as an opportunity to honor those wonderful milestones.
