

Lucy M. Akers born April 21, 1959 age 65 passed away Saturday May 18, 2024 at 9:57am at the Hospice of Dayton 6 weeks after her cancer diagnosis. She lived a happy and free life. Lucy was the kindest and most friendliest person you could meet anywhere. She made friends and family out of everyone by just being herself. Enjoying the music and rhythm of her surroundings. Lucy was a Stebbins High School Graduate class of '77. She is preceded in death by her daughter Kelly Lynn Resler, brothers Christopher Resler and Tony Villarreal. She made all efforts to have fun and live bright in this world; not just for herself but for her family and friends. She always had a shoulder for anyone to lean on and a listening ear for those in need. Lucy made friends everywhere from her genuine smile and laughter. She loved those that were close to her and those that were far away. She was adopted and raised with her brother Christopher by William and Eve Resler. She traveled the country with them and settled down in Dayton,Ohio. She retired from the United States Postal Service after 33 years. Lucy is survived by: her parents Juan Gonzalez, and Mary Villarreal; siblings Edward Salinas of Napoleon, Luis and Teresa Salinas of Holgate, Sarah Casillas of Norwalk. Dave and Danielle Cagle of Holgate, John Salinas of Toledo, Gino Villarreal of Real Sherwood, Belinda Villarreal of Tennessee and Lisa Villarreal of Colorado, and Gloria Peepoles of Illinois.
She is loved and missed by those who knew her the closest and called her Mom, Mamaw, Sister and Friend. She Lives On Always through: son Kevin Resler, daughter Ruby Maria Akers, son Jeffrey Christopher Akers, and her grandchildren; Wesley Mullins, Aden Shade, Caleb Shade, Ezzerae Simpkins, and Staelii Mills
