

Poston,Mabel 88, died on Saturday, March 21st, 2015 from heart disease and renal failure. Mabel was born on March 17, 1927 in Amco, Kentucky. She grew up in Jeremiah, Kentucky with her parents George and Laura Hampton and five siblings. Mabel graduated from Stewart Robinson High School and then moved to Ohio to work for NCR. She met the love of her life, Charles Poston, in Dayton, Ohio and soon married him in Newport, Kentucky on July 20th, 1945. Together they co-founded the Hasty Tasty restaurants and later went on to open several Char Burger restaurants, The Fireplace Inn, and The Cattleman Inn. They had four children: Sharlene, Rick, Barbara, and Tina. They were married for 67 years before Charles passed away. They had a loving and caring marriage and always brought a smile to one another’s face. Mabel was smart, savvy, and knew a lot about everything. Most of all, she was a lady at all times – elegant, classy, and southern in her ways. She brought laughter and stories to every occasion. She saw the good in everyone she met and in return she was loved and adored by all. Mabel lived a long, happy life and was able to experience many great things. Mabel was a member of Order of Eastern Star Dayton Victory Chapter #594. She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Reeves Poston; her parents, George and Laura Hampton; her siblings, Opal, Rita, and Neil. Mabel was survived by her brother, Dennis; her sister, Nellean; her children, Sharlene, Rick, Barbara, and Tina; and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, friends, and family. The visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 26th, 2015 at Tobias Funeral Home – Beavercreek Chapel located at 3970 Dayton Xenia Rd. Beavercreek, Ohio 45432.
