

JERGENS, Marilyn Kathryn, 74, returned to her heavenly home on Thursday April 2, 2020. Marilyn was born in Dayton, Ohio on June 30, 1945, born the daughter of the late Raymond and Stella (Steinke) Vocke. She was a graduate of St. Joseph High School class of 1963 and was attending The University of Dayton, studying Education, when she met Edward Allen Jergens at the St. Patrick’s Day Dance in 1964. They were married at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church on August 20, 1966. She was a devout mother to her 4 children and raised them through the Catholic faith. She was a firm believer in God and supported her loved ones in their walk with Christ. She found great joy in bringing loved ones together, cooking, hosting and spending summers with her grandchildren. Marilyn loved to be immersed in the beauty of nature and could be found near water and sunshine. She was passionate about life and thrived on helping and serving others. Marilyn never knew a stranger and would quickly make friends with everyone around her. She will be greatly missed by those who her light has touched. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, daughter; Melissa (John) McGlynn, of Fishers, Indiana; sons Steven (Laura), of Beavercreek, Michael, of Rochester, Michigan, and Matthew (Elyse), of Marysville; 11 grandchildren; Allison and Ashley McGlynn, Alissa Shatto (McGarvey), Sara, Hunter, and Natalie Jergens, Isabelle, Andrew, Nicholas and Samuel Jergens, Owen Jergens, and 1 great grandchild Mason. A private family funeral service is planned, with a celebration of life to follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the National MS Society.
