Mark D. Denlinger, age 68 of Beavercreek, Ohio passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital. The third of five children, Mark was born in Dayton, Ohio on October 3, 1951 to parents William & Sylvia (nee Beemer) Denlinger.
Mark met his wife, Joanne (nee Miller), at Wright State University in chemistry class in the fall of 1972; he would go on to call her his “lifelong chemistry partner.” Mark spent the majority of his 35-year teaching career at Beavercreek High School. Outside of the classroom, Mark loved all things aviation and would spend hours navigating through the National Museum of the United States Air Force. While there, Mark would often take thousands of pictures of the exhibits, even if he’d taken the same thousand pictures the week before.
In retirement, Mark picked up golfing...rarely straying away from his favorite “home course”, playing weekly with some of his best friends. Mark also enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with family and friends while on various trips across the world.
Mark is survived by his wife Joanne, whom he was married to for 44 years, sons Jonathan (Andrea) and Brian (Danielle), granddaughter Scarlett, father William (Ann), brothers William and Dwight (Sue), sisters Lisa (Greg) and Robin (Larry) Weinstein, sister-in-law Janet (Michael) Fisher, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will take place Friday, September 4th at Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church at 3530 Dayton Xenia Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45432 from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM. A service will follow the visitation for the immediate family with Pastors Carey Hovland and Steve Kimm officiating. Entombment will take place on Tuesday, September 8th at Woodland Cemetery in a private ceremony.
