

Michael Ralph Burton, age 76 of Beavercreek Ohio, passed away on Sunday, August 16, at his home with his family surrounding him. Mike was born on February 2, 1944 in Portsmouth, Ohio, the son of the late Ralph and Helen (Moatz) Burton. Mike retired from Delphi, where he began in 1967 as a Tool and Die apprentice. After 34 years and multiple promotions Mike took a long overdue break to play golf and other activities he enjoyed including traveling, attending sporting events and family events in 2001. Retirement did not last long for Mike. His work ethic and drive lead him to reenter the workforce and he was employed at DMax and most recently at Enterprise at the Dayton International Airport. Mike worked full time while golfing in two leagues, being a golf ranger and battling prostate cancer at age 75. Mike is survived by his wife of 57 years, Karen (Finfrock) Burton; his children, Lisa Brown (Randy), Beavercreek, Ohio; Susan Roberts (Scottie), St. Petersburg, Florida; Michelle Sivert (Ted), Wilmington, Ohio; sister, Karen Berger (Robert), Beavercreek, Ohio; grandchildren, Joshua Burton (Chelsey), Long Bottom, Ohio; Lyndsey Burton (James Pennington), Beavercreek, Ohio; Dana Berger, Fairborn, Ohio; Randy Brown,Jr., Xenia, Ohio; Victoria Sivert, Wilmington, Ohio; Aubrey Sivert, Wilmington, Ohio; great grandchildren, Madison Burton, Beavercreek, Ohio; Brody Pennington, Beavercreek, Ohio; Annalyn Brown, Xenia, Ohio; Randy Brown III, Xenia, Ohio; Grant Burton, Long Bottom, Ohio; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, coworkers and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Burton.Mike was an avid golfer who played in multiple states and countries. He was a lifelong Cleveland Browns, Ohio State and University of Dayton fan. He was a member of the Milton Club, as well as the Beavercreek Moose. Mike graduated from Stivers High School, where he and Karen remained active with reunions, outings and trips. Mike was inducted into the Stivers High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019. He created lifetime memories for his family at sporting events, vacations and holidays.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m-8 p.m on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Tobias Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel with Hospice Chaplin Steve Wetterhan officiating. Interment will take place following the funeral service at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery, Beavercreek, Ohio. At the request of the family, face masks will be required.
